Botox
Botox rejuvenates your skin’s appearance and is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments available. The procedure helps refresh your skin by eliminating prominent wrinkles and fine lines. The Botox cosmetic is a neurotoxin that blocks the signals that cause muscle contractions, thus eliminating the formation of wrinkles or helping them fade over time.

Is Botox safe?
Botox is a safe and highly effective injectable that’s been used to help hundreds of thousands of people reduce or eliminate the signs of aging. The treatment takes as little as 15 minutes, and once you are done you can return to your daily routine.
What is the treatment like?
A certified medical provider will mark treatment areas to guide the injections. You may feel a mild pinching or poking sensation during treatment. We are happy to use a topical numbing agent upon your request. The actual injection process takes only a few minutes.
Afterward, you may experience redness or bruising of the injection site. You should avoid strenuous exercise, drinking alcohol, taking blood thinners, and rubbing or lying on your face for 24 hours after getting Botox injections.
How many injections will I need?
This varies by individual, depending on your skin and your rejuvenation goals. In general, an average treatment consists of between 25-64 units.
How long does it take to see results with Botox?
Results will begin to appear in the days following treatment. It can happen gradually and take up to two weeks to see your final results. At JW Holland, we like to check-in with our patients to make sure they are happy with their results and do minor touch-ups after the two-week period.
How long does my Botox last?
Depending on the individual, the Botox treatment usually lasts between three to four months. If it’s your first treatment, the results may not last as long as follow-up treatments will.
At what age should you start getting Botox?
Botox prevents wrinkles from forming at beginning stages. Many patients begin Botox treatments when they begin to notice wrinkles. Botox is approved for patients aged 18 and up.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers help turn back the most common signs of facial aging such as smile lines, deep wrinkles, and a loss of volume. As we age, we naturally lose subcutaneous fat in the face. This causes facial muscles to work closer to the skin surface, which results in smile lines and crow’s feet becoming more apparent. Also, as we continue to get older, the facial skin stretches, contributing to an increased loss of facial volume.
What can dermal fillers do?
Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as an additional part of a Botox treatment.

The results of Dermal Fillers typically begin to appear immediately after the treatment. When used in combination with Botox, results are noticeable within a few days after the injection. However, the full results may not be visible for about 1-2 weeks, so it is important to wait an adequate amount of time before seeking a touch-up treatment.
