Before & After
FAQ
How much does it cost?
The cost of a Botox treatment varies and depends on the needs and goals of each patient. The cost is dependent on the number of units required. At JW Holland Wellness & Aesthetics, we will perform an assessment before your treatment and develop a personalized plan for you.
What is the treatment like?
A certified medical provider will mark treatment areas to guide the injections. You may feel a mild pinching or poking sensation during treatment. We are happy to use a topical numbing agent upon your request. The number of injections may vary, but typical treatment ranges from 25-64 units in the face. The actual injection process takes only a few minutes.
Afterward, you may experience redness or bruising of the injection site. You should avoid strenuous exercise, drinking alcohol, taking blood thinners and rubbing or lying on your face for 24 hours after getting Botox injections.
How many injections will I need?
This varies by individual and also depends on your skin and your rejuvenation goals. In general, an average treatment consists of between 25-64 units.
How long does it take to see results with Botox?
Results will begin to appear in the days following treatment. It can happen gradually and take up to two weeks to see your final results. At JW Holland Wellness & Aesthetics, we like to check-in with our patients to make sure they are happy with their results and do minor touch-ups after the two week period.
How long does my Botox last?
Depending on the individual, the Botox treatment usually lasts between three to four months. If it’s your first treatment, the results may not last as long as follow-up treatments.
Are there side effects to Botox treatments?
According to the manufacturer, common side effects can include redness, bruising, swelling or tenderness around the injection site, along with dry mouth and headaches. Symptoms usually resolve after a few days. Rarely, allergic reactions can occur. Seek medical attention and tell your doctor if you experience difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing, itchiness, hives or other signs of an allergic reaction.
In very rare cases, serious symptoms can occur. In clinical trials, health care professionals found that a confirmed serious case of detrimental side effects occurred just 36 times out of 400 participants. Seek medical help if you experience general muscle weakness, drooping eyelids, decreased eyesight, double vision, blurred vision, loss of bladder control, neck pain or shortness of breath. These symptoms could be signs of life-threatening complications.
At what age should you start getting Botox?
Botox prevents wrinkles from forming at beginning stages. Many patients begin Botox treatments when they begin to notice wrinkles. Botox is approved for patients aged 18 and up.
